Last weekend we went to Idaho because my brother blessed his baby. It was a nice, relaxing weekend; we visited with all our family, I didn't have to cook and my mom took care of a lot of things. We came home on Monday but I sort of wish we were still there.
Especially after yesterday when Colby threw up (I mean threw up, not spit up) four times. He has an unusual talent of being able to throw up out his mouth and nose at the same time. So I spent yesterday cleaning him, me, the couch, the floor, and anything else that got in the way. I was handling it all right until last night when I put in to bed and thought he was going to be asleep for awhile. He woke up only a couple minutes after I laid him down and, you guessed it, threw up all over him, the bed, the floor. I walked in and saw the mess and thought, Okay I need help. But who to ask for help? Clay has been having major problems at work so we haven't seen him since we've been home. This was a time when I needed my mom. If she lived nearby I would have called her and she would have come over to help me. But that isn't the case. I just wanted someone to help me with the mess or hold Colby for me because he was pretty unhappy about puking again. I thought about who I could call to help me. Several friends ran through my mind but I realized it was 7:00pm and everyone was with their own families, getting ready for bed. I realized how dumb it would be to call and ask for help with such a dumb thing so I talked myself out of it. In the end, I changed Colby's sheets while I held him.
Some days I just need my mom.

AMEN!!!
Everyone has the pukies lately! I'm so sorry that Colby is sick. If your mom lived close, I'd call her too :) (love her!)
I'd have come and helped you. Sorry you're going through so much.
